Inherited from Norwegian Nynorsk Kristus (with /ʉ/ becoming /u/, hence written as Kristos). Alternatively, form Russian Христос (Xristos) (in which case pronunciation would probably be with /o/-sound and having different stress). Compare also Finnish and Northern Sami Kristus, both having an /u/-sound.
