Nannygate

English

Etymology

From nanny +‎ -gate.

Nannygate

  1. Any of various political scandals involving the hired nannies of politicians, e.g. where taxes are unpaid or a visa not obtained.
    • 2001, Bernard E. Harcourt, chapter 6, in Illusion of Order:
There are many forms of disorder. Street life is only one. Tax evasion, "Nannygates," political corruption: these forms of disorder—disorder that we experience as much as we do street life—are somehow different. They are not central to the broken windows hypothesis.
