From òṣómàáló (“an Ìjẹ̀ṣà practice in which the loan giver sets up a tent in the vicinity of the debtor's abode”), itself from òṣó (“a squat”) + màá (“I will”) + ló (“squat”), literally “I will stay squatting [until I am paid]”.
