Reconstruction notes

Rhizotonic forms may have had */ˈkɔm-/, as the diphthongization expected of original */ˈɔ/ is found in Asturian.^[1] In that case, diphthongization may have been counteracted in Castilian by the following /m/ (cf. hombre < hŏminem).
