From o-grade intensive Proto-Indo-European *ǵʰlóh₁-e-ti[1] or reduplicated stative *ǵʰe-ǵʰlóh₁-e ~ *ǵʰe-ǵʰl̥h₁-ḗr, from *ǵʰleh₁- (to shine, glow).
