Proto-Naish

Etymology

Li compares Tibetan རྔོག (rngog, mane) and Japhug smɤɣ (wool). Japhug tɤ-rme (hair) fits more semantically closely and has a compatible initial but Li is uncomfortable with the vowel correspondence.

Lidz and STEDT derive this word from Proto-Sino-Tibetan *r-murl.

Noun

*Snu

  1. hair
