Schnake
German
Etymology
From Middle High German snāke, from Old High German *snāko.[1] According to Kluge, this word is unrelated to *snakō (“snake”), though perhaps it is ultimately related to its source, the verb *snakan (“to creep, crawl”). Cognate with Hunsrik Schnok.
