ascondere
Italian
Etymology
From Latin abscondere. The verb's conjugation may have been contaminated by porre; the expected passato remoto would have been asconde(tt)i, ascondesti, etc. (from either Latin abscondī or abscondidī) while the expected past participle would be asconduto (from Latin absconditus through regular development with a Vulgar Latin -ūtus).
