By analogy with capitalist roadism, itself formed by analogy with capitalist roader, a calque of Chinese 走資派 / 走资派 (zǒuzīpài, literally one who takes the capitalist road). By surface analysis, capitalist +‎ road (figurative) +‎ -ist (adjectival suffix).
