dangos

English

Noun

dangos

  1. plural of dango

Anagrams

Welsh

Etymology

From dann- (equivalent to dy- + an-[1]) +‎ a reflex of Proto-Indo-European *ḱens- (announce).[2]

Pronunciation

Verb

dangos (first-person singular present dangosaf)

  1. to show

Usage notes

The ng in dangos is considered to be two separate letters, n and g, and so is found in a dictionary under dan- and is pronounced /ŋɡ/ in South Wales. In the North, however, the pronunciation of ng here is /ŋ/ as if it were the single Welsh letter ng.
