destrăma

Romanian

Etymology

Either from a Vulgar Latin root *distramāre, from Latin trama or from des- + *tramă, which likely once existed as an inherited term in old/early Romanian (and also survived in Aromanian tramã) but now exists only as a neologism borrowed from French (cf. tramă). See also stramă. Compare Aromanian distrãmedz, distrãmari.
