Etymology

From Proto-Albanian *tpē-, rebuilt analogically after the original inchoatives, from Proto-Indo-European *tep- (to be warm). Cognate to Latin tepeo (to be lukewarm, tepid). From a metathesized pre-form ptoh.[1]
