huall

Etymology
Two possible etymologies:
- from Proto-Albanian *xāljā, from earlier *ksān and suffix -jā, from pre-Albanian *s-keh₂n, metathesis of Proto-Indo-European *kh₂en, oblique of *kóh₂r̥ (“wax”) (compare Greek κηρός (kirós), Lithuanian korỹs (“id”)).[1] The change of *n to l is irregular.
- from Proto-Albanian *skāla, further related to hollë (see there for more),[2] although admittedly very difficult to reconcile semantically.
Noun
huall m (plural hoje, definite hualli, definite plural hojet)
