jämka (present jämkar, preterite jämkade, supine jämkat, imperative jämka)

1. to move (something slightly) to a better position (sometimes figuratively), to adjust
2. (often with mellan (“between”)) to mediate (between, from notion of nudging into a better position relative to each other), to try to reconcile
