These contractions are used with the indicative forms of the negative verb ei. They are common, but optional. |
- jotta as the general subordinating conjunction in place of että is traditionally seen in the South Ostrobothnian, Karelian (except in northwestern parts of South Karelia), Ingrian, Värmland Savonian, and some Kainuu dialects. It can also be found in some Satakunta, Central Finnish and Savonian dialects, but is less common than että. In other dialects, että is overwhelmingly more common.[1]
