Borrowed from Javanese ꦏꦮꦸꦭ (kawula, I, literally citizen, subject; servant), from Old Javanese kawula (servant, follower, subject).

  1. (Bahasa Dalam Brunei) the first person personal pronoun for
    1. the Raja Isteri when addressing the Royal Family, Wazir-Wazir, Cheteria-Cheteria and Pengiran Pengiran Berteras;
    2. the Royal Family, Wazir-Wazir, Cheteria-Cheteria, Pengiran-Pengiran, Pehin-Pehin Manteri and the common people when addressing the Pehin-Pehin Manteri
    3. the common women when addressing the Cheteria-Cheteria and Pengiran-Pengiran;
    4. the Female Pengiran-Pengiran when addressing the Royal Family, Wazir-Wazir, Cheteria-Cheteria and Pengiran-Pengiran.
