Etymology
From Proto-Albanian *lentā, possibly from Proto-Indo-European *lenteh₂,[1] from a tentative root *lent-, or a wanderword. Compare Old High German linta (“linden”), Lithuanian lentà (“board”), Proto-Slavic *lǫtъ (“bast”). Possibly connected with lëndinë (“heath, pasture”).
