Partial reduplication of mātaki.

  1. watch, gaze, inspect, examine, observe
    Ka mutu te harirū, ka haere a Tā Hōri Kerei ki te mātakitaki i te whare i mahia ai mōna e Te Mānihera.
    When the handshakes had finished Sir George Grey went to inspect the house that Mr Maunsell had built for him.
