Compound of orang (“person”) + dalam (“inside”), literally “person on the inside”.
Noun
- insider: a person who is within a certain environment (occupation, group, etc.)
- an employee who recommends people that (s)he knows to work in the same company.[1]
- connections: people with whom one is acquainted who can offer help and influence
