From pang- +‎ kinain, from kain +‎ -in-. Sense web browser is a semantic loan from English browser (person or animal who browses; web browser) where English browse in this case referred to its older meaning to feed on, as pasture; to pasture on; to graze; to move about while eating parts of plants and not the more common meaning today to scan, to casually look through.
