- An unproductive circumfix whose meanings largely overlap with those of per- -an with which it sometimes has variant forms.
- dalam (“deep”) → pedalaman (“hinterland”)
- tualang (“vagabond”) → petualangan (“adventure”)
- kubur (“grave”) → pekuburan (“graveyard”) (along with the variant form perkuburan)
