  1. (soccer) The first goal scored during the first half of extra time, giving victory to the scoring side at the end of the half-time, if this rule is in effect and the scoring side is leading.

Usage notes

Part of the official FIFA rules from 2002 to 2004. Both the silver goal and golden goal rules are no longer used.
