turpmāks

From one of several dialectal variants of an original form turpāk (“further”), the comparative of turp (“to there, thither”): turpanāk, turpenāk, turpināk, reduced to turpnāk → standard turpmāk with assimilation of p-n to p-m. The adjective form was later created by analogy.^[1]
