Balabolka pause don't work any longer

Question

Using it on Windows 11. In the past, inserting a pause time under options of 1000 or 2000, i.e. between sentences, would create a pause of 1 or two seconds between sentences.

This stopped working for me. Now it uses the default pause regardless of what I enter.

How to fix?

Turns out the problem is MS Online voices. They do not play well with the pauses set in Balabolka and cancel them out.
