I have a problem with font scaling in Win 7. I tried to search but found no apparent solution to this.
About the problem: It manifest itself in older games (from Win 95 era). For example I get this
in "Demise rise of the kutan", and in some other games I don't get any errors but the fonts are completely out of place/alignment/size etc.
Is there way to fix it so that I can run older programs/games?
Judging by the dialog picture, it looks like your font scaling (DPI) is turned up above 100% in Windows 7.
So the game is detecting it (since the system for doing so hasn't changed much since Win9x) and is telling you to correct it or else the game will look messed up (or it will choose to not even run).
You can set your font scaling (back to 100%) in Control Panel->Appearance and Personalization->Display:
As the SU questions/answers "Set DPI of individual applications in Windows" and "Dual monitors on Windows 7 - How do I set a different DPI or text size on each monitor?" point out, it's a system-wide setting.
