Etymology
Learnedly, from Ancient Greek ἀνέρχομαι (anérkhomai). By surface analysis, αν- (an-, “up”, from ανα- (ana-)) + έρχομαι (érchomai, “come”).
For sense amount: semantic loan from French s'élever.[1]
