Etymology

Learnedly, from Ancient Greek ἐξαρτῶ (exartô), contracted form of ἐξαρτάω (exartáō)[1] < ἐξ (ex) + ἀρτάω (artáō, hang, fasten). Different from the ancient verb ἐξαρτύω (exartúō, get ready, equip) and the Hellenistic ἐξαρτίζω (exartízō, complete; equip).
