κιλλός

See also: κίλλος

Ancient Greek

Etymology

For the root vocalism, it is possible to compare πιλνός (pilnós, grey) beside πελιός (peliós, livid). Formally, this word is reminiscent of κελαινός (kelainós, dark), but ultimately there is no convincing etymology.
