ρηχός
Greek
Etymology
Adjectival formation from ρηχαίνω (richaíno, “to become shallow”), a verbal formation derived from Ancient Greek ῥηχίη (rhēkhíē), the Ionic variant of ῥᾱχῐ́ᾱ (rhākhĭ́ā, “flood tide; breakers of the sea”).[1] The sense development would be "to become like a tide" > "to become shallow".
