     Բարոյախաւսն ասէ վասն եղջերուոյ, թէ կարի թշնամի է աւձի. յորժամ փախչի աւձն եւ մտանէ ի ծակն, երթայ եղջերուն, լնու զամանն իւր ջրով եւ գայ ի ծակն, ուր աւձն մտաւ։ Եւ արկանէ ի ծակն աւձին, մինչեւ հանէ զաւձն, կոխէ եւ սպանանէ զնա։

     Baroyaxawsn asē vasn ełǰeruoy, tʻē kari tʻšnami ē awji. yoržam pʻaxčʻi awjn ew mtanē i cakn, ertʻay ełǰerun, lnu zamann iwr ǰrov ew gay i cakn, ur awjn mtaw. Ew arkanē i cakn awjin, minčʻew hanē zawjn, koxē ew spananē zna.

       Physiologus says about the deer that it is very hostile to the serpent; when the serpent escapes and goes into a hole, it goes and fills its vessel with water and comes to the hole which the serpent entered; and pours it into the serpent's hole until it draws the serpent out, tramples and kills it.
