Usage notes

  • The verb לָבַשׁ (lavásh) is specific to clothing;
the verb נָעַל (na'ál) is used for shoes, sandals;
the verb חָבַשׁ (khavásh) for headwear, bandages;
the verb הִרְכִּיב (hirkív) for (sun)glasses;
the verb עָנַד (anád) for rings, bracelets, necklaces;
the verb שָׂם (sam) for gloves; and sometimes
the verb גָּרַב (garáv) for socks, stockings.
