Borrowed from Arabic تَرْبِيَة (tarbiya, education, upbringing).

تربیه • (terbiye) (definite accusative تربیه‌یی (terbiyeyi), plural تربیه‌لر (terbiyeler))

  1. upbringing, rearing, nurture, education, breeding, the act of raising, disciplining, or training a child
  2. good manners, etiquette, the treatment of other people with courtesy, politeness and correct behaviour
  3. admonition, reprimand, rebuke, reprehension, the act, or an expression, of criticism or condemnation
  4. (cooking) seasoning, anything used to add taste or flavour to food, such as salt, pepper, herbs, or spice
