Vulgarization of Persian زبانه (zobâne, object similar to a tongue), from زبان (zobân, tongue).

Noun

زوانه • (zıvana)

  1. tenon, a projecting member made to insert into a mortise
  2. the paper tube inserted in cigarettes to serve as a mouthpiece
  3. heel, the lower end of a timber in a frame, as a post or rafter
