Etymology
Inherited from Proto-Turkic *sač(ï)ra- (“to splash, splatter”), a development of *sač- (“to scatter, sprinkle”). Cognate with Azerbaijani sıçramaq, Bashkir сәсрәү (səsrəw), Kazakh шашырау (şaşyrau), Kyrgyz чачыроо (cacıroo), Turkmen syçramak and Uzbek sachramoq.

- (intransitive) to leap, spring, jump, bound, to push oneself off a surface and into the air by using the muscles in one's legs and feet
- Synonym: آتلامق (atlamak)
- (intransitive) to splash, splatter, plash, dash, swash, to hit or agitate a liquid so that part of it separates from the principal liquid mass
