Borrowed from Classical Persian قیمه (qīma, “ground meat, mincemeat”), likely ultimately from Turkic. Compare Ottoman Turkish قیمه (kıyma), Punjabi ਕ਼ੀਮਾ (qīmā) / قِیمہ (qīmh), Gujarati ખીમો (khīmo), Marathi खिमा (khimā), Bengali কিমা (kima).
