लष्कर • (laṣkar) n

While the term लष्कर (laṣkar) used to be the standard term to refer to a country's army, in recent times however, the term has been falling into disfavour in common usage due to its association with militant organisations such as the Lashkar-e-Taiba, with the synonyms सेना (senā) and फौज (phauj) being preferred.
