তা
Bengali
Etymology
Singularized from Sanskrit ताः (tāḥ, 3rd-person plural feminine pronoun) with gender indistinction, from Proto-Indo-European *téh₂ (3rd-person plural neuter pronoun) with gender specification. Obsolete in the first sense as an independent pronoun, being replaced by সে (śe) instead (similar to তে (te)), but exists in compounds.
