Etymology

Inherited from Prakrit 𑀣𑁄𑀕 (thoga, a little) + Middle Indo-Aryan -𑀟- (-ḍa-) + -𑀓- (-ka-), from Sanskrit स्तोक (stoká, drop, dot).[1] Cognate with Punjabi ਥੋੜਾ (thoṛā), Gujarati થોડું (thoḍũ), Marathi थोडे (thoḍe), Bengali থোড়া (thōṛa), Hindi थोड़ा (thoṛā).
