Pronunciation
Suffix
-eņš (feminine -eņa)
- Used to form diminutives of hard-stemmed masculine nouns.
- vylk- + -eņš → viļceņš
- Used to form diminutives of hard-stemmed adjectives.
- moz- + -eņš → mozeņš
Usage notes
- Triggers umlaut in the stem: o > a, a > e, ā > ie, y > i.
- Triggers palatalisation of a preceding velar consonant: k > c, g > dz.
