Gandhara

  1. (historical) An ancient kingdom that occupied parts of present-day Afghanistan and Pakistan.
    Synonym: Paropamisadae
  2. (poetic, otherwise obsolete) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a province in northwestern Pakistan.
  3. (historical) North-West Frontier Province, proposed as a rename before Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was chosen in 2010. Was favoured by some due to its lack of ethnic connotations.
