Proto-Bodish

Etymology

From Proto-Sino-Tibetan *tə-ŋguʔ.

Numeral

Proto-Bodish numbers (edit)
 ←  8 9 10  →
    Cardinal: *dgu

*dgu

  1. nine

Reconstruction notes

  • Bodt specifies *d.gu,[1]; this is inconsistent with other numerals, where he used a hyphen instead of a dot to separate the pre-initial. Note also that outside of Tibetic, an extra vowel *u appears between the pre-initial *d and initial *g.

Descendants

  • Tibetic

  • Dakpa-Dzala
    • Dakpa: [Term?] (/tu31.ku53, du35.gu55/)
