Etymology

Either formed as *pa- (later) +‎ *-kъ, in the same manner as *jakъ (such), *kakъ (how), *takъ (thus) from *jь (this here), *kъjь (who, which), *tъ (this), or a back-formation from *opakъ (reverse, the other way round) with dropped *o-.
