Reconstruction notes

Poppe (1960:30) reconstructs *ńiŋgun and derives it from earlier *nirgun to compare it with Proto-Mongolic *ǰirguxan (whence Mongolian зургаа (zurgaa)).

Etymology

Benzing proposes an earlier form *ńöŋgüen due to reason that the elements *-guan and *-gun used to form numerals.
