Etymology

Possibly an alternative form of *urkan. Alternatively, Róna-Tas suggests a derivation from *ar- comparing Turkish argaç, Karakhanid اَرْقاغْ (arkāğ, “woof of a woven material”) and Karakhanid اَرِشْ (arïš, “the wrap of a woven material”).
