Etymology

Possibly an alternative form of *urkan. Alternatively, Róna-Tas suggests a derivation from *ar- comparing Turkish argaç, Karakhanid اَرْقاغْ (arkāğ, woof of a woven material) and Karakhanid اَرِشْ (arïš, the wrap of a woven material).
