Suurbritannia (genitive Suurbritannia, partitive Suurbritanniat)

1. Great Britain (a large island (sometimes also including some of the surrounding smaller islands) off the north-west coast of Western Europe, made up of England, Scotland, and Wales)

2. (loosely) Great Britain (the United Kingdom, a kingdom and country in Northern Europe including the island of Great Britain as well as Northern Ireland on the northeastern portion of the island of Ireland)

• Suurbritannia is the commonly used name of the country in Estonian texts, although it is not exact (it leaves out Northern Ireland). In official contexts, the full name of the country, Suurbritannia ja Põhja-Iiri Ühendkuningriik (United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland), or its short equivalent, Ühendkuningriik (ÜK), should be preferred. The use of the name Inglismaa is conceivable in a historical or informal context.
