- (transitive) To postpone dealing with, shelve, table (to delay making the decision on (something)):
- Vi beslutar att bordlägga ärendet tills vidare.
- We decide to shelve the matter until later.
- (nautical) to provide a vessel with a skin (planking or plating forming the sides and bottom)
