Etymology 1
From Proto-Albanian *tˢermā, related to Lithuanian šarmà (“frost”), Latvian saŕma (“id”).[1] Same as thermë and thermit, with the usual c:th alteration in Albanian, connected to an older form of ther, *cer.[2]
