  1. (Japanese mahjong) A call for forming a run of three consecutive tiles of the same suit using a discarded tile.
    Synonym: chow

Usage notes

Among English-speaking players of the Japanese variant of mahjong, chii is more commonly used than the original English term chow. Unlike chow, chii is not typically used to refer to a group of three consecutive tiles, which is usually called a sequence instead.
