- to catch
- (reflexive with se) to catch hold of, to grasp [with za (+ accusative) ‘by’]
- Měl jsem ho rovnou chytit za límec a nepustit. ― I should have grabbed him by the collar right away and not let him go.
Usage notes
- The preposition za (behind) is used because you place your hands behinds things when you want to get a grip on them.
