From an unattested *kadān + gi (“particle”), the former related to kadà (“when”).[1][2]

Usage notes

The main difference between kadangi and nes is that kadangi can begin the first or second clause of a compound sentence, whereas nes is only used in the second clause. Kadangi, however, is still mostly used in the first clause.
